What Slack really costs a business with two remote assistants

Slack charges per person, so the bill depends on who's in the workspace. Here's each plan's price, what you and two assistants would pay in a year, and what the price leaves out.

Slack's four plans

Slack's prices as listed on slack.com/pricing on 7 October 2026, in US dollars.

  • Free: US$0 / 90 days of message history, up to 10 apps, calls (huddles) between two people only
  • Pro: US$7.25 per user a month billed yearly, US$8.75 billed monthly / Full message history, unlimited apps, group calls
  • Business+: US$15 per user a month billed yearly, US$18 billed monthly / Adds Slack's AI agent and more admin controls
  • Enterprise+: Price on request / For large organisations

You and two assistants on Slack

Three people on Slack Pro, billed yearly, is US$261 a year. The Free plan hides messages older than 90 days, so for a team that gives instructions in chat, Pro is where the bill starts.

  • Pro, billed yearly: US$261 a year
  • Pro, billed monthly: US$315 a year
  • Business+, billed yearly: US$540 a year
  • Business+, billed monthly: US$648 a year

Isn't Slack free?

Slack Free works for chat. The catch for a team with assistants is the 90-day history: the instructions you gave in March are gone from search by June, and calls are between two people only.

What your assistant's day needs that chat doesn't cover

Slack keeps the conversation. Running a remote assistant takes three more things: the routine they run every week, the logins they use, and a report of what got done. Slack has no shared password vault and no end-of-day report, and recurring work means building a workflow yourself. Most owners add a password manager, a time tracker and a doc of SOPs, and pay for each one.

  • Routines: recurring jobs written as steps, ticked off by your assistant
  • Shared logins: share a login with one person, revoke it in one click
  • End-of-day reports: what got done and the hours worked, as a PDF or a link

Crewhall comes with your assistant

Crewhall is the Slack alternative built for working with remote assistants. Chat, calls, routines, shared logins, SOPs and the end-of-day report live in one app, and it comes free with every Catalyst assistant. There's no per-seat price to work out.
